1980

The F-tower comes downThe F-tower comes down

Due to shifting soil, the F-tower of the Business Administration Building was completely demolished. Today, the garden terrace, where the tower once stood, provides students with a scenic view of University Avenue and Manoa Valley.

1984

Asian Field Study pioneers the way

The Asian Field Study has been regarded as one of the University’s most challenging and successful international programs since its launch in 1984. The brainchild of Business Economics Professor K.K. Seo, the program, which was the first of its kind world-wide, has provided over 550 students with a first-hand understanding and knowledge of Asian business and culture.

1989

The first country specific MBA program – the Japan-focused MBA

In partnership with the Japan-America Institute of Management Science (JAIMS), the College launched the Japan-focused MBA in 1989. This was the first country-specific MBA program at the College. The China International and Vietnam Executive MBA were added in 1998 and 2001 building on the College’s international expertise in Asia-Pacific business.
